Purple Kiss officially disbands in November 2025 after member-agency discussions.
Final activities include an English album, Japan promos, U.S. tour & Korean concerts.
Known for self-producing music & "Junior MAMAMOO" comparisons, their exit shocks fans.

The K-pop world was met with unexpected news as RBW Entertainment announced the disbandment of Purple Kiss, their talented six-member girl group known for their self-produced music and captivating performances. After nearly five years together, the group will officially conclude activities in November 2025, leaving fans—affectionately called PLORY—heartbroken yet grateful for their impactful career.

But why is Purple Kiss disbanding? According to RBW, the decision came after lengthy discussions with the members, who ultimately chose to pursue individual paths while cherishing their time together. Before their final goodbye, the group will release an English album, promote in Japan, embark on a U.S. tour, and hold farewell concerts in Korea—ensuring a meaningful send-off for their supporters.

Want to know more about their journey, legacy, and what’s next for the members? Keep reading for a deep dive into Purple Kiss’s story—from their powerful debut to their bittersweet farewell.

A Strong Debut and Musical Identity

Purple Kiss first teased their potential with two pre-debut singles—"My Heart Skip a Beat" (November 2020) and "Can We Talk Again" (February 2021)—before officially stepping into the K-pop scene with "Ponzona." The Spanish word for "poison," "Ponzona" encapsulated the group’s ambition to "color the world with their charm." The Into Violet album featured six additional tracks, including their pre-debut releases, showcasing their versatility from the start.

Often dubbed "Junior MAMAMOO" due to their shared agency and strong vocal prowess, Purple Kiss carved out their own identity with a mix of dark, whimsical, and experimental concepts. Their music blended haunting melodies with powerful performances, earning them a dedicated fanbase, known as PLORY.

A Sudden Goodbye: The Disbandment Announcement

On August 4, RBW Entertainment dropped an unexpected yet emotional statement regarding Purple Kiss’s future:

"Hello, this is RBW Entertainment. First, we sincerely thank all the fans for your continued support and love for PURPLE KISS."

The agency acknowledged the abrupt nature of the announcement, expressing regret for the suddenness but emphasizing that the decision came after extensive discussions with the members.

"We would like to inform you of our official position regarding PURPLE KISS’s group activities and future plans. We apologize for making this announcement so unexpectedly. PURPLE KISS will conclude its group promotions in November. Because we deeply care about the group, we have had long and serious discussions with the members about their future. Ultimately, we have concluded that we should respect each other’s opinions and cherish our individual dreams."

Despite the disbandment, RBW assured fans that Purple Kiss would continue with their scheduled activities as a final gift to their supporters.

"Although the group activities will end, we plan to continue with our scheduled activities as a way to repay the fans’ love and support."

The agency then detailed the group’s remaining plans, including:

"Starting with the release of their English album at the end of August, they will continue their Japanese promotions, tour across America, and hold concerts in Korea during the time we have left."

RBW concluded the statement by expressing gratitude to the members and fans for their unwavering dedication.

"We’ve shared countless moments with the group and thank the six members who made PURPLE KISS shine. There were some tough days, but thanks to the members who gave us their passion and the fans who cheered them on, every moment could shine. Once again, we thank the fans for your continued love and support for PURPLE KISS. Thank you."

RBW Entertainment (Rainbow Bridge World), founded by Kim Jin-woo and Kim Do-hoon in 2010, is home to powerhouse acts like MAMAMOO, ONEUS, ONEWE, and formerly Purple Kiss. Though not part of the "Big 3," RBW has built a reputation for fostering artist freedom and strong musical identities.

Fans were shocked by the disbandment news, with many expressing frustration online. One netizen quipped:

“no mamamoo no hwasa no wheein no purple kiss….. who is going to be paying your bills rbw…?”

“Purple Kiss y’all weren’t supposed to go out like this…. If only my girls debuted in a different company that actually cared about them…”

“HOW DO YOU FUMBLE SUCH A VERSATILE ALL ROUNDED GROUP LIKE PURPLE KISS RBW YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS.”

“Thank you for everything. I'm so proud of Purple Kiss and I wish absolutely nothing but the best for these girls. I hope they all continue to stay happy and healthy. I'll support them no matter where they go. 💜 #ThankYouPURPLEKISS.”

Purple Kiss’s journey may be ending, but their impact remains. From their self-produced tracks to their captivating performances, they’ve left an indelible mark on K-pop. While their group activities conclude in November 2025, their final projects—including an English album, Japanese promotions, and a U.S. tour—promise to be a heartfelt gift to fans. As they prepare for solo endeavors, one thing is certain: Purple Kiss’s music and artistry will continue to resonate long after their last curtain call.

Oh my heart… I’ll admit I didn’t know Purple Kiss well, but reading this in the middle of the night has me feeling unexpectedly emotional  There’s something so sad about groups ending - all those dreams and hard work. Wishing those sweet girls peace in whatever comes next :purple_heart:

Purple Kiss was one of the most talented self-producing groups :sob::purple_heart: Their vocals and concepts were always so unique! I’ll never forget their ‘Zombie’ performance, pure art! #PLORYForeve

Let’s be real, without a big hit song, it was hard for them to compete. The K-pop market is too saturated these days

RBW should’ve pushed them harder when they had the chance. Typical company mismanagement if you ask me…..

The storytelling in Purple Kiss’s MVs was always so cinematic. ‘Sweet Juice’ had such a beautiful dark fairytale concept. I’ll miss their creative visuals :sad_but_relieved_face:

Linda noona, your comment made me tear up a bit  Even if you didn’t know them well, you understand the feeling perfectly! These girls trained for years just for this dream… But the members will always have our support! Maybe we’ll see them shine in new ways soon :green_heart: #PLORY4Life

I still can’t believe Purple Kiss is disbanding… It hurts so much because they had so much potential and truly deserved more recognition. Every comeback showed their growth, their vocals were insane, and their concept was always so unique. It breaks my heart to see it end like this, but I’ll forever support each member in whatever they choose to do next. Thank you, Purple Kiss, for giving us such beautiful music and memories. You’ll always have a special place in my heart💜

They’re talented, they just weren’t in the right agency. I truly believe they’ll succeed in their own individual paths.
